2019, A Year In Review

Out of 17 years of living, 2018–2019 have been the worst 2 years of my entire life.

I hit the lowest point in my life and I vow to never fall to that point again. As the final hours of 2019 are escaping me, here’s my year in review.

Or two years in review… because the story really started in 2018.

In February 2018, I started my second semester of grade 10 in high school. The first semester had been a breeze for me and a great time. I developed lots of new friends, had a memorable trip to Beijing, and was dubbed as an academic god from my ability to ace tests without studying.

Going into the second semester, I was expecting to maintain results and continue thriving as I did before.

But I was wrong. Very wrong.

Classes suddenly became more difficult and I was not willing to put in more effort. I wanted to maintain my face and my public status as a god who didn’t study.

That’s who I thought I was. So I continued moving and neglected to study at all.

When I began to receive low marks in succession, that’s when I started falling apart.
