Copyrighted Again… Be Careful When Posting Online!

My Instagram account got another post taken down and got banned for 3 days. It wasn’t the first time either.

Back in 2019, I started promoting Get Good At Badminton on Instagram for the first time.

I was posting pictures of other pro badminton players online doing things like congratulating them for winning whatever tournament they just won.

I never ran into any problems with pictures despite using pictures that were not royalty-free.

I got arrogant and began using videos.

They were much more effective than pictures allowing me to gain hundreds of followers at the time per post.

I made about 7 video posts and each one attracted tens of thousands of views as opposed to thousands generated by pictures.

Same hashtags, same captions.

Then a month later, Instagram issues a 2-week ban on my account and took down all 7 video posts saying that I violated copyrights of Star India Limited.

I remember how unfair it felt to me.

Everyone else was posting videos completely fine and they never credited anyone.

Star India didn’t even own the original rights to the content I used either. They have only owned the rights to…
