Don’t Just Remember Info, Act On It

What I first thought was completely normal, but realized that not everybody was doing it.

Every time I read or watch something, I think about how I can put the knowledge I just gained into action.

I come at everything with a beginner’s mind, absorb as much information as I can, and then apply that information to my life.

It doesn’t even have to be applying an idea directly in the context of what I read.

For example, I’m reading The Intelligent Investor by Benjamin Graham right now.

Graham talks a lot about the mindset and emotional discipline of an investor and how taking advantage of the chaos in the stock market will lead to success.

Currently, I am only 17 and unable to open a stock trading account. I occasionally use my mom’s account to make trades, but that’s about it.

But I used what I learned in other contexts that affect my life.

Like the part about don’t get hyped up because everyone else is hyped up is quite useful. It helps me avoid shiny object syndrome.

Just this morning, I read a post on Medium where a girl talked about her experience with the Medium Mastery course by Tom Kuegler.
