Specialization Is Absolutely Worthless

I hate specialization.

Everyone keeps telling me that you have to focus on one thing in order to succeed. That the world values specialists more than generalists.

People keep telling me things like you only have so much time, you can’t be the best at X and Y at the same time.

Listen, my problem isn’t with being good at one specific thing or focusing on one thing at a time.

My problem is with the unwillingness of people to push their limits.

Everyone around me seems to be saying, “You have to choose one thing to do in order to be successful.”

What if I don’t want to? What if my whole dream is to be someone who’s good at everything?

How Do You Even Specialize In The First Place?

First off, what does specialization even mean?

Everybody keeps talking about how one needs to focus on one industry or subject to be good at it, but what’s the difference between specializing into something like local search engine optimization (SEO) or normal SEO as a whole?
