Trip To Changsha, Hunan, China
The cultural and differences in social standards and my personal growth from this trip.
I got back about a day ago. December 26, 2019 at 11:34 PM to be exact.
I spent about 26 days in China and I learned lots. I feel like I have a plethora of new pathways opened up now.
The city I traveled to was Changsha in the Hunan province of China. Both my mother and father were born in this city and it is where a large majority of my relatives reside.
Let’s start with the first few days.
The first day gave me the biggest shock of the entire trip.
The first thing that came to mind as my cousin and uncle brought me from the airport was the driving condition in China.
I got onto my cousin’s Jeep and as he was looking for the exit from the airport, we were stopped at a gate. A taxi in front of us had gone the wrong way and started backing up expecting us to back up as well.
My cousin slammed the horn and backed up as well, but as he was backing up, a BMW X5 pulled up behind us and my cousin stopped. But the taxi only kept on backing up.
There was barely enough space to move out of the parking lot. Luckily no car hit each other.
